New Book Hits NY Times Bestseller List
March 28th, 2008
Physics of the Impossible by Michio Kaku hit the NY Times Bestseller list at #12 in an upcoming edition of the Times.
From Seattle Times: Invisibility? Time travel? “Physics of the Impossible” says it may not be far-fetched: “Kaku encourages us to take seriously ideas the world’s great intellects consider crazy, reminding us that these same powerful minds sometimes wonder whether such way-out theories and models of the universe are crazy enough to be true.”
Acclaim for Physics of the Impossible
March 8th, 2008
Physics of the Impossible hits bookshelves March 11th. Some recent acclaim,
New Scientist — “The study of the impossible has opened up entirely new vistas for science…It is here that the book’s strength lies: the impossible is a gateway for discussing what we still do not quite understand, those grey areas that are surely the most fascinating part of physics.”
LA Times — “Mighty few theoretical physicists would bother expounding some of these possible impossibilities, and Kaku is to be congratulated for doing so”

Ask Michio: If parallel universes exist, can they collide?
January 28th, 2008

If parallel universes exist, can they collide?

Michio: Probably. The latest cosmological data comes from the WMAP satellite currently orbiting the earth. The data is consistent with “inflation,” i.e. the idea that the universe began in a super turbo-charged expansion at the instant of the big bang. However, inflation is also a quantum theory, i.e. there is a finite probability that if inflation happened once, it can happen again, and again. In fact, big bangs may be happening all the time, even as you read this sentence. There may be a continual creation of universes. Read on…
